According to Bloomberg Law, Equality California, an LGBT civil rights group, has filed a federal lawsuit against President Trump’s ban on transgender people in the military.

Equality California and several transgender members of the military filed a lawsuit last Tuesday, listing President Trump and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis among the defendants.

The purpose of the suit is to “ensure that all qualified Americans have an equal opportunity to serve in the United States military, that transgender individuals are free from arbitrary and invidious discrimination, and that the constitutional rights of transgender individuals to autonomy, privacy, and freedom of expression are respected and protected”.
