Lawmakers Seek Gender Restrictions on School Bathrooms

by Admin on October 9, 2015

A new bill being proposed by two republican lawmakers will see transgender students barred from using the bathroom for the gender with which they identify, reports Lacrosse Tribune.

For example, a biologically born male who now identifies as female, will be unable to use the girls washroom.

Rep. Jesse Kremer, R-Kewaskum, and Sen. Steve Nass, R-Whitewater have proposed that school boards should designate bathrooms and locker rooms for one gender only. This will mean the state Department of Justice must defend school districts in lawsuits that allege the policy is discriminatory towards transgendered students.

Prenuptial agreement lawyers in Thailand Chaninat and Leeds are experts at arranging pre-nups for both Thai nationals, and foreigners living in Thailand.

Kremer wrote in a memo to lawmakers: “This bill reinforces the societal norm in our schools that students born biologically male must not be allowed to enter facilities designated for biological females and vice versa.”

He argues that there is a need for a statewide policy regarding transgender students’ use of bathrooms and locker rooms.

This need has been prompted by scandals such as the one involvingLila Perry, the 17 year old biological male who identifies as female. She insisted she had the right to use the female locker room at school, although many of her classmates and their parents were unhappy about this.

In Thailand, transgenders are generally well accepted and there is even talk of legally initiating a third sex.
