According to the Phuket Gazette, Hat Yai police seized 200 kilograms of kratom worth around 300,000 baht on Monday.
Police raided the home of 32-year old Anek Rattanapan after receiving a tip off, and subsequently arrested him.

Kratom is classified as an illegal narcotic in Thailand. However, it’s used to make medicines in other countries. Academics have said that the law should be changed in order to allow kratom’s medicinal use in Thailand.
