Mushroom picking also included in the list of things that have been banned
The Japan passed a new anti-terror conspiracy law that targets terror conspiracies in the country reports BBC News.
The controversial bill was passed amid strong criticism and has sparked nationwide protests for its alleged violation of privacy rights.
The government has defended the passage by saying that the law is imperative in maintaining the security of the country ahead of the 2020 Olympics.
Under the law, 277 acts have been criminalized. The list of acts does tackle serious threats such as terrorism. However opponents have criticized the inclusion of acts they consider vague and unnecessary such as music copying and mushroom picking in certain areas.
