Thailand tort law provides for compensation of wrongful acts in situations such as bus accidents, and other motor vehicle accidents. Each year, scores of foreign tourists, as well as local residents, are injured in traffic accidents in Thailand. In many cases insurance companies settle cases before a court action is necessary. In other cases insurance companies and the drivers responsible for must be prosecuted in a Thai court. Thailand personal injury lawyers Chaninat & Leeds, recently obtained a judgement for 4,939,170.99 baht on behalf of an injured Israeli tourist. According to Thailand personal injury attorney, Jiraporn Thongpong, the judgement came after an 11 year court battle because the Defendants refused to accept responsibility. Ultimately Chaninat & Leeds forced the defendants to pay and their injured client received 4,939,170.99 baht to cover their expenses.
