Oklahoma Bars State-Manufactured Weapons from Federal Law

The state of Oklahoma recently passed legislation that protected firearms and ammunition manufactured in the state from federal law. Specifically, the “Firearms Freedom Act” states that any state-manufactured firearm “is not subject to federal law, federal taxation or federal regulation as long as it stays within the state of Oklahoma,” reports KRMG.

The bill’s supporters say the bill was designed to protect the Second Amendment, as well as keep the federal government from overreaching its powers.

US Wants Armed Air Marshalls on Thai Flights

United States authorities are asking for armed air marshals on American airlines operating throughout Thailand, reports The Bangkok Post. The US has asked permission to do so from top-ranking Thai officials, who are still considering the issue.

If allowed, United and Delta Airlines, perceived to be targeted, would carry air marshals between US areas and Thailand.

The authority of the federal government to order airlines to carry air marshals without cost has been encoded in law for decades.
