Gary Glitter has appeared in court in the UK for child sexual abuse cases involving minor children arising in the 1970s and 80s reports The BBC.
The former pop star, 70, has been charged with six counts of indecent assault, one of unlawful sex with a girl under 13 and one count of administering a drug to obtain sex.

Glitter faced criminal charges and deportation across several countries in SE Asia including Vietnam and Cambodia with actual and suspected child sexual abuse, after a Vietnamese court found him guilty of obscene acts with minors in 2006. He had been living in Vietnam since deportation from Cambodia on suspected child sexual abuse charges in 2002. Glitter was deported from Vietnam back to Britain at the end of his sentence, where he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
