A former Tennessee circuit court judge has been sentenced to six months in prison for lying about a sex scheme he was involved in.
Richard Baumgartner, 65, lied to cover up a “conspiracy involving a defendant from his court, a woman about half his age who had supplied him with pills and sex,” reports ABC News.
The former Knox County judge was convicted in November, and an investigation found he was abusing painkillers while presiding over trials for years. Baumgartner says he’s ashamed of his actions.

“I will forever be remorseful for any disgrace I have brought to that profession,” he said.
Interestingly enough, it was Baumgartner who launched the county’s drug court.
