Divorce to Become Easier in Maryland

A new law is being in introduced in Maryland that will see the end to the year-long waiting period usually imposed on couples wanting to part ways.

As the Baltimore Sun reports, Maryland law currently requires couples who submit a separation agreement, to wait a full year before they can file for divorce.

That changed this week, at least for couples without minor children. Childless couples who mutually consent to divorce and agree on a property split will be able to divorce sans this delay.

International divorce attorneys in Thailand Chaninat and Leeds have decades of experience successfully handling divorces, both in Thailand and overseas.

However, for couples with children, the rules remain the same and they must live separately for a year before filing, even if they have resolved custody and support matters.

Montgomery County family lawyer Lindsay Parvis calls the change a “huge development.”
