Defendant in Wheelchair Dies After being scorned by a Judge

by Admin on April 24, 2018

A circuit judge from Broward County has resigned after an “over the top scolding” of a woman in a wheelchair who suffered from Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, passed away two days after her court hearing.

Issues concerning family law in Thailand should be directed to a professional law firm with expertise in family affairs.

Broward’s elected public defendant commented that Judge Merrilee Ehrlich’s behavior was inappropriate and that she should be banned from the criminal courthouse.  The defendant, Sandra Twiggs faced misdemeanor charges after scratching her daughter over an argument about a fan.

A family friend of Sandra’s commented that when she returned home after being berated in the court house she was “starving, dizzy and borderline breathless” as she was not able to take her medication while in jail. It was Sandra’s sister, Anna that found her deceased in her bed just two days after she returned from the courtroom.

It is still unclear when the Judge handed in her resignation and when it will become effective.
