According to People, the boyfriend of a North Dakota woman who was mysteriously murdered while she was still pregnant has been awarded custody of their child.
Savannah LaFontaine-Greywind was eight-months pregnant when she went missing. Her body was later found wrapped in plastic and dumped in the nearby Red River. An autopsy determined that she died of homicidal violence, and it’s thought that her daughter was cut from her womb, although details have not yet been released.

A couple who lived in the same apartment building as Savannah, William Henry Hoehn, 32, and Brooke Lynn Crews, 38, were arrested after they two-day old child was found in their apartment.
After DNA tests were conducted, Ashton Matheny, the child’s father and Savannah’s boyfriend of seven years, was awarded custody of the child.
“I’ve been waiting to be a father for a while”, he said.
