There are allegedly thousands of users sharing child porn on twitter
Daily Star reports that a gamer called Molly has handed a dossier to the FBI of twitter accounts that have posted pictures of boys and girls who are under the age of 16, exposing a network of child pornography on the social media site.
The gamer told the Daily Star that she had been offered a $500 bribe to take down the list of names on Reddit. She is reported as saying, “Everyone person on this list follows 90% girls or boys under the age of 15 – I didn’t want there to be wiggle room, every one of these users chose to follow child porn.”
She also added that some of the accounts had more than 20,000 followers. Many of the accounts have since been suspended, some with the terms “legalize 14” next to pictures of young girls.

This isn’t the first time Twitter has come under fire for hosting accounts with child porn. In 2012, writer Louis Barfe had reported an account on twitter that had disturbing footage of the rape of a young boy. After he reported the account, Twitter took no action in suspending it. Anonymous had finally gotten the account shut down.
Social networking sites should start policing illegal contents on their pages and take immediate action when such instances do occur.
