The Sacramento Bee reports of a new law known as Libre’s law to be passed that holds dog owners accountable for leaving their pets in the freezing cold for more than 30 minutes.
Dog owners can be charged anywhere from 90 days to seven years in jail. Alternatively fines range from $50 to $15,000 depending on the severity of the animal abuse.
Criminal defense lawyers in Thailand assist with defending basic due process rights, including the right to trial.
Incidents that encouraged the passing of this law includes the Boston terrier behind the name of the “Libre’s law” who was found at a Lancaster county farm, severely malnourished. With winter well on its way for the US, Jennifer Vanderau from the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter suggests keeping your doghouse dry and “raised off the ground if possible”.
