Cannabis May Become Legalized in US Following New Bill

by Admin on July 28, 2015

A new bill introduced into Congress this week suggests it could be time to wave goodbye to federal enforcement of marijuana in the US. The new bill, which has bipartisan support, may give precedence to state marijuana laws.

In the USA, currently 24 states have legalized medical marijuana and 14 other states have fully decriminalized the drug. Nevertheless, the federal government has still been enforcing federal prohibitive on marijuana even when the state law allows its use and possession and/or sale. The new federal bill, if passed into law would require the federal law to honor the state laws regarding marijuana use in those states.

If the bill is passed, this could be the beginning in a radical shift in drug laws in the US.
