Canada to Repeal Anal Sex Ban for People Under 18

The bill would strike down ‘zombie laws’ from law books

Lifesitenews.com reports that liberals in Canada are proposing a new bill that is geared towards removing remnants of laws that have been struck down as unconstitutional.

Bill C-39 would scrub abortion laws, which were struck down almost ten years ago and would also repeal Section 159, the ban on anal sex between more than two people, in public and for individuals under 18.

Liberals have voted to introduce Bill C-39 to absorb and replace Bill C-32, a standalone bill introduced by Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould last year to repeal the anal sex ban.

The Criminal Code section banning abortion will be among the Criminal Code provisions to be repealed.

Currently, there are no laws regarding abortion in Canada and when asked if pro-life protests could spark new abortion debates, Raybould said, “We’re not opening or reopening the abortion debate, we are simply taking a leadership role and hoping that we will have this bill passed through and we can clean up the Criminal Code once and for all.”
