A bill that bans sexual interactions with animals has been approved by the state Senate in Ohio reports Independent. Further approval is required by the Ohio House of representatives for it to become law.
The anti-bestiality law will “prohibit a person from engaging in sexual conduct with an animal” and a person found violating the law would be required to undergo psychiatric evaluation or counseling.
Bestiality has garnered attention in the past several months after Canada ruled that sex acts with animals are allowed as long as penetration is not involved. The law has received backlash from many animal rights groups.

It is surprising to note that sex with animals is still legal in 12 U.S states namely District of Columbia, Texas, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming and Ohio.
Unfortunately bestiality is quite common in other parts of the world too. Bestiality brothels are spreading through Germany according to a report in 2013. In Columbia, sex with a donkey is a common act for underage boys who are not allowed to have sex outside of marriage due to religious practices. Finland actually went so far as to legalize sex with animals because they claimed mentally ill or lonely people should not have to suffer.
