The U.S government passes bill that allows families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia over alleged ties to attack
The U.S House of Representatives have voted on a bill that would allow families of the victims of 9/11 to sue the Saudi Arabian government for damages. The bill was approved by the senate four months ago and was passed by a voice vote in the House chamber.
President Barack Obama has threatened to exercise his veto to prevent the bill from becoming law. According to The Telegraph, Obama fears that passing the law would invite unnecessary litigations from other countries upon the U.S for past grievances.

Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks came after declassified information showed that 15 of the 19 reported hijackers were Saudi nationals. Several attempts failed to corroborate the allegations and the Saudi Arabian government denies it had any role in the attack.
