Hot! Army Allows Chelsea Manning to Take Female Hormones

For the first time in the U.S. Army, female hormone treatment was approved for prisoner Chelsea Manning, reports the ABA Journal.

Chelsea Manning was a former intelligence analyst and was convicted of espionage as Bradley Manning in the infamous WikiLeaks case.

Manning immediately came out as transgender after receiving her 35-year sentence, and filed a federal lawsuit to obtain treatment.

The commandant at the Kansas military prison where Manning is serving her sentence approved hormone treatment for Manning on Feb. 5.

According to ABA Journal, Manning’s lawyer, Chase Strangio, said the decision to allow hormone treatment, though welcome, does not address all of the issues Manning filed to resolve in regard to her gender treatment plan, including permission to grow her hair as a female prisoner.
