Vietnam Tries Three Bloggers for Anti-Government Propaganda

Three prominent bloggers are being tried for spreading anti-government propaganda in Vietnam.
Lawyer Ha Huy Son said the three were put on trial by the People’s Court in southern Ho Chi Ming City on Monday. The three could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Blogger Nguyen Van Hai wrote under the pen name Dieu Cay and the other bloggers are Ta Phong Tan and Phan Thanh Hai.
They all belong to the outlawed Free Journalist Club and are accused of posting and writing hundreds of articles that “distorted and opposed” the communist government.
Hanoi says no one has been imprisoned for expressing their views and only law breakers are jailed. Still, international rights groups have condemned the trial an called for their immediate release.
