Illegal to Have Sex with Animals in Louisiana
The Louisiana state senate has recently passed a bill that will ban people from sexually abusing animals; the bill passed 25 votes to 10. The bill will go to the House of Representatives and will not only make having sex with an animal illegal but have the animal taken away from the abuser and the abuser will be banned from owning pets in the future.
JP Morrell who wrote the bill said that bestiality which came under the laws “crimes against nature” needed to be better defined and illegal under an enforceable law. The new bill titled “SB236” will charge anyone found guilty of either engaging or knowingly participating in a situation where an animal is being sexually abused.
Morrell commented about those who opposed the bill that they needed “good luck, explaining it”. President of the Louisiana Family Forum said that he opposed the bill because he believed the current laws were instructional enough and another law was not needed.
