Hot! “National Duty” to Rape Women Who Wear Ripped Jeans, Egyptian Lawyer Says

According to Breitbart, an Egyptian lawyer stated last week that men have a “patriotic duty” to sexually harass and rape young girls who wear ripped jeans.

Nabhi al-Wahsh made the shocking comment during a debate on a panel show, in which he argued that women who wear revealing clothing should be punished for doing so.

“Are you happy when you see a girl walking down the street with half of her behind showing? I say that when a girl walks about like that, it is a patriotic duty to sexually harass her and a national duty to rape her”, he said.

In response, Egypt’s National Council for Women has vowed to file complaints against both the lawyer and the TV channel on which the comments were broadcast. They have also called for other media outlets to refuse to host guest who make remarks inciting violence against women.

A recent poll by Thomson Reuters named Cairo as the world’s most dangerous megacity for women, with the highest rates of violence, sexual harassment and rape. Egypt is also becoming increasingly dangerous for the LGBT community, with police arresting groups of gay men.
