New visa regulations in Israel make work visas mandatory for all individuals travelling to the country to fulfill a task that requires a certain skill reports Haaretz.

The law targets experts that been invited by Israeli businesses for a short period of time to provide a certain skill set such as training, consulting, installations and repair work.  This will also include people arriving from countries with visa-waivers.

Experts coming from abroad will not only require a B/1 work visa but also a work permit, before they enter the country.

Prior to the law, businessmen coming only for a short trip could enter on a tourist visa.

In Thailand, the immigration law is such that a business trip to the country, no matter how short, requires a work permit. However, in cases of “urgent and necessary work”, foreigners can notify the Department of Employment instead of getting a work visa. It is punishable by law to be caught working in Thailand without a work permit.
