The TPP includes 12 nations that represent over 40% of the global GDP.

Officially, this document is unavailable for public viewing. However you can read the leaked document here.

The IP Chapter has been arguably the most controversial due to how it will effect internet services, publishers, medicines, biological patents and civil liberties.

Peter Maybarduk, Public Citizen’s Global Access to Medicines Program Director said:

“If TPP is ratified, people in the Pacific-Rim countries would have to live by the rules in this leaked text […] The new monopoly rights for big pharmaceutical firms would compromise access to medicines in TPP countries. The TPP would cost lives.”

Activist Post says of the document:

“[It] confirms our worst fears about the agreement, and dashes the few hopes that we held out that its most onerous provisions wouldn’t survive to the end of the negotiations.”
