This is following a video released last week showing Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, also discussing the collection and sale of fetal tissue.

The undercover videos were made by anti-abortion group The Center of Medical Progress, posing as representatives from a biotech company, who say this is proof that Planned Parenthood is illegally selling fetal body parts for profit, a practice they deny.

The video cites US law, section 42:
(a) Purchase of tissue
It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.

The video’s released by the Center for Medical Progress have shocked the online community, however Eric Ferrero, Planned Parenthoods vice president of Communications says they cannot confirm the authenticity of the video.

“Nobody can tell exactly what was discussed because of the extremely heavy editing, the agenda of the activists who produced it, and the fact that the original footage has not been made available […] What we see on this tape is a woman who says “we’re not in it for the money,” and that any money must be related to reimbursement for costs.”

At the end of the video, Mary Gatter says in regard to payment for tissue:

“Let me just figure out what others are getting […] and if this is in the ballpark, then it’s fine, if it’s still low, then we can bump it up. I want a Lamborghini.”

This story is reminiscent of last year’s report that UK hospitals were burning aborted babies for fuel.
