Thais Worship Statue Rising from Ground
A statue mysteriously emerging from the front yard of a Thai family in Ratchaburi province prompts worship ceremonies, reports Coconuts Bangkok.
Sampao Ngamjam and her husband Suthep Ngamjam first spotted the object in their yard on Sunday, January 18.
Suthep initially thought the head was a mushroom, but as it unearthed itself they realized it was statue.
Many of their neighbors and fellow villagers brought flowers and candles to pay homage to the statue and to seek good fortune, according to Thai News Agency.
Coconuts reports that Suthep said he would host a ceremony as well as build a shrine for the statue’s spirit.
