The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Hague will continue to hear oral arguments in a land dispute case between Thailand and Cambodia. The legal battle is over a 4.6 square kilometer area   encompassing the Temple of Preah Vihear near the countries’ mutual border. While the Khmer temple was given to Cambodia in the 1962 ruling, ownership over the territory was not discussed.

When oral arguments began Monday, Cambodia asserted that the 1962 ruling also gives them ownership. After the Cambodia legal team presented their arguments, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister told a press conference Thailand was not worried, and “all pertinent points were exactly what Thailand had anticipated and prepared for.”
