Marijuana DUI Bill Passes Colorado House
A bill that sets the legal limit on the amount of THC in a driver’s bloodstream has passed unanimously in the Colorado House on Tuesday. While Colorado and Washington both legalized the recreational use of marijuana, only Washington has set driving standards on THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
House Bill 1114 designates anyone with 5 nanograms of THC as driving under the influence of marijuana, with penalties similar to those of drunk driving. The law also states that police can’t use medical marijuana patient cards as evidence in a driving-high case.
Bangkok Criminal Lawyers are experienced in marijuana laws in Thailand and Marijuana possession can help clients arrested on drug charges in Thailand.
Colorado has tried to pass similar legislation three times in the past. The bill failed to pass the Senate in previous years because opponents felt the 5 nanogram standard was too low. The current version of the bill thus far has had bipartisan support.
