Parisian Women Banned From Wearing Pants
An archaic law on the books in Paris declares it illegal for women to wear pants. While the law dates back to the 1800s and has been superseded by equal rights laws, it still remains on the books — and will continue to. A senator recently asked for the law to be repealed, but the Ministry for Women’s Rights asserts it will stay on the records for historical purposes.
The law was relaxed at one point to allow women to wear pants while riding bicycles or horses.

Buying land or property in Thailand is attractive for investment or business reasons as well as residence or retirement purposes.
The archaic Parisian law brings to mind Indonesia’s newest law, which will require women to ride motorcycles sidesaddle. The mayor of an Indonesian province banned women from straddling motorbike drivers, claiming it was a violation of Islamic law, or Shariah.
